Job Description
The Locum Bureau is looking for Practice Nurses to join a welcoming GP Practice team in Burton On Trent.
You will step into a well-supported nursing set-up with organised clinics, clear protocols, and a steady pace that allows for high-quality patient care.
Flexible sessions available with opportunities for regular repeat bookings.
Working Pattern
• Up to 4 days a week available, with flexibility around which days you work.
• Clinic-based sessions with the option to pick up additional cover when it suits you.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver routine practice nursing clinics including immunisations and wound care.
• Support chronic disease management clinics in line with practice protocols.
• Undertake cervical screening where trained and competent.
• Provide health promotion, lifestyle advice and preventative care.
• Maintain infection control standards and clinical stock awareness.
• Record accurate notes and code activity appropriately on the clinical system.
Requirements
• NMC registration and recent UK GP practice nursing experience.
• Competence in core practice nurse duties relevant to the role.
• Cytology and immunisation experience preferred depending on session needs.
• Confident communication and a supportive, patient-centred manner.
• Ability to work independently within scope and escalate appropriately.
• Compliance documents available including DBS and training, or willingness to complete.
